Week of Thanksgiving

Hey Everyone, this is the Report from Elder J.

How is life? Mine has been really interesting this past week. I have learned and grown a lot in the past little while. This week unfortunately has seen very little going on by way of appointments and progress in investigators. We had a lot planned for this week and we were going to be getting a lot of new investigators and meet up with some old ones, but they seem to have all fallen through. It's been somewhat bothersome, as we've been trying to work really hard even when we're outside working in 18 degree weather and not finding many results. However, we have seen some great miracles happen in the people that we have found. The investigators that we are able to contact all seem to have some real interest in the gospel and they all are willing to set appointments with us. Also, our real success has been in seeing Mareli Ramirez and Armando come to church last sunday. We had a primary program, so Armando's sons were in it as well as the rest of their family, so the two of them came to it. Armando is Flor Ramirez's husband and Mareli is her and Alma's sister. So it was cool to see these two hardcore catholics come and see what their family is learning about. I fully believe I will see the two of them baptized while I'm still in this area.

On Thanksgiving Day, Elder Aguila and I had an unsuccessful search for 3 things: 1) an open bank 2) an open bowling alley 3) an open restaurant. All failed. Who knew that an entire city of 5 million could shut down for a whole day? The only thing that was going on downtown was the parade and about a million tourists. We then went over to eat with the Familia Pajarez, who consist of Mom Selda, Daughter Jenny and son Pedro. We had a really good ham dinner with potatoes and a bunch of good stuff. We had a lesson and everything went really well. Then we played some games and had fun with their family. I enjoy spending time with them, I'm really close with that family. Then we went to the Ramirez's house where we had an appointment with their whole family and got to meet some of their friends. It was nice, and we got to get to know Armando better, as he gave us a ride home from their house cause it was freezing outside.

So that's how my Thanksgiving was and how I'm doing. I'm really excited for Christmas and everything coming up. We're having transfers the week of Christmas so I hope I don't get transferred. But that's really unlikely, so no worries. The Pajarez's have already invited us to go to their house for that day. Elder Aguila and I are doing really well and we are hoping to see a lot of progress in the next few weeks.

I love you all, and I'm very grateful for all that you do for me.

Love,

Elder Jordan Green.
