So everyone, here's the scoop on the last week.
This last week has been so cool. We had a great miracle happen on monday. We went over to teach some new investigators, but when we knocked on the door the wife was very ill so we couldn't come in. On leaving their house, a member who was with us preparing to go on a mission, Pedro Pajares, suggested that we go knock doors. Elder Aguila had looked up streets in that area who had a lot of people in the Future Investigator sheets so we went to an apartment complex to go knock. The first complex we tried was locked. Then we found one that was open and found three doors that had Hispanic residents. The first one we knocked was answered by a little girl who's parents weren't home. The second didn't answer. On the third door, we knocked and it was opened only about 3 inches. Pedro quickly told him "We're missionaries from the Church of Jesus Christ and we want to share a message with you about the Gospel of Jesus Christ." The man then swung the door open as fast as he could and almost shouted, "Well please come in!" His name is Jorge (pronounced like "hor-hey!") and he has been searching actively for the truth to fill his life for the past month. It was really neat to be able to see this happen and have Pedro with us. It gave him a greater desire to share the gospel and do missionary work, and it gave us a new opportunity to bring the gospel to someone's life.
Things other than that are going really good. We are going to the Ramirez House on Christmas Eve (which is when most hispanics celebrate christmas). And we're going to the Pajares's on Christmas itself. It'll be a lot of fun, they're one of the families I feel the closest to on my mission.
Well, I just wanna bid you all a MERRY CHRISTMAS! And I can't Wait to talk to you all on Saturday!
Much Love,
Elder J.
