Mission week

Howdy!

I'm sitting in the trusty apple store yet again writing e-mails! Today my preparation day plans are simple: go downtown with the members of my district and shop! I'm going to buy my new suit and some shoes today! I'm really excited. So that will be fun. That means we're gonna eat at Billy Goats Tavern (which isn't really a tavern at all, it's a burger joint). I love eating there, their cheezeborgers are great and the people there are awesome. Plus it's a part of Chicago (especially Cubs) culture. The reason the cubs can't win anything is because they were cursed by the original owner of Billy Goats because they wouldn't let him stay at a Cubs game with his Billy Goat. They have unsuccessfully tried to lift the curse several times but it won't be lifted until they let a goat into the stadium because they want to (and not for publicity). Plus we're gonna grab cheesecake at the bottom of the Hancock building.

So those are my plans. What's been going on this week? Lots of stuff. We've had a good beginning this week with some member presents and some other lessons and are really getting ahead of the game working really hard. We had some good experiences with some new investigators and are working really hard to get them toward baptismal dates. Oscar Versanez came to church on Sunday! And was able to be in Sacrament Meeting! That means that his baptism will be able to happen on the 26th as planned. We are really excited for him. He has made lots of progress and improvements in his life. Our young investigators Cesar and Julio are doing awesome as well. On monday we passed by them and found out that Julio had been suspended from school. His mom about killed him! We thought we'd have to start planning on baptisms for the dead. But everything is good. He was bored all night because he couldn't do anything so he read a lot of the Book of Mormon, which was fine with us! They are both really good kids and both are making good progress.

Well hey, I'm sorry for cutting things short this week but I would really like to get some stuff done today. The last few preparation days have been a little... droll.

I love you all very much! The church is true, and God loves you!

Con Amor,

Elder Verde.
