Hola!
Well everyone I just wanted to write and see how things are going. We've been doing good out here, everything is going well. I haven't gotten news from anyone in a while so I hope that everything is going good! I know that I haven't been the most diligent in sending letters, but I'm really trying to. Elder Witham and I are always way busy on Preparation Days.
Yesterday we had a really cool experience happen:
We got a referral from the Church Headquarters that someone wanted a Book of Mormon, so we went to go drop it off and have a lesson with them. Well when we got there, it was an apartment. We knocked, and we could tell that there were people inside but they weren't answering the door, so we knocked again and stayed there for a little while, but when it was evident that we weren't going to get an answer, we went back out to the car. We were in the car, debating what we should do, when I felt like we should call the guy who we had just knocked, and see if he would answer the phone. He did, and after a brief discussion with Elder Witham, he said that he had company but that we could come give the Book of Mormon to him in the hallway and talk but that we had to be brief. So we gave him Lesson 1 in 2 minutes or less. It was really cool and we felt the Spirit. Then, however, he went back inside and we went to the car. No sooner had we gotten in the car than he called us and said that his guests inside had seen the book and wanted to hear the message in full and get copies of the Book of Mormon! So we went back inside, taught the full lesson to him and three friends, and gave each of them a Book of Mormon, with an invitation to come to church this coming Sunday. To me it taught me a lot of things. 1: Be where you plan on being because God will place people in your path. 2: Listen to the promptings of the Holy Ghost. 3: The Spirit can touch hearts if you make short, but powerful points.
I know this church is the restored Church of Jesus Christ and that we have a living prophet today. I'm very thankful for all my ward and stake leaders that have stuck with me and shown me the way to happiness and eternal life. Mostly, I'm thankful to my family for being constant guides to me and not giving up on me when times get rough.
Con Mucho Amor,
Elder Jordan Green
