This week - September 28

Finally and at long last I am at the Apple Store in downtown Chicago again!!

It's been an awesome week. We had some miracles happen. Our investigators, Maria and Johnny came to church on sunday. It was an awesome experience because they were really excited and said that it felt like the 3 hours went by like that! Also, Maria knew Hermana Rojas who is in our ward. She remembered her from a kindness that Hermana Rojas had done her over a decade ago. It was an awesome testimony to me that we can be preparing people for things that will happen years down the road. This family is super legit and are set to get baptized on the 5 of November. I'm still looking for someone who will get confirmed on Dad's birthday! That's my goal. Also, next saturday the 8 we will have the baptism of Jorge Velez! We're super excited for that. Jorge is a miracle man. In Mexico he was involved in who knows what, and over the past few years has turned it all around and is really repentant. He is so awesome!

We have had some slower days lately. We hope to see more progress this week. Last night we went on exchanges with the Westchester 2 Elders and it was a lot of fun. When we changed back, Elder Lemke and I went to an appointment with Johnny and Maria and they told us that they had a huge fight that day and she was contemplating moving out. We had planned on teaching them the Plan of Salvation and the Law of Chastity. We followed the Spirit and did exactly that, answering many questions they had, and I believe the Lord used us to help Him save their relationship. It was an incredible lesson and the Spirit was very felt.

Today is Elder Lemke's second-to-last preparation day. We are going to go bowling and spend some time with one of his converts who is coming out from Rockford to visit. It will be really cool. I'm very excited. What I'm not excited for is Elder Lemke leaving. I think I'm going to miss him more than any of my other companions, because while all of my companions have made a great impact in my life, his impact has been the greatest. I'm going to miss the guy to death. But it's ok because six weeks after, I'll be there too.

Speaking of which, there is a family of 5, the Zamoras, who may want to come over during the winter, for like a week or two during or right after Christmas. I was wondering if there was a way that we could house them. They are an awesome family and I would be more than willing to give up my bed and sleep in the family room.

I'm glad my application is in to BYU. I'm a little nervous, but my confidence is in the Lord, and so I know that if it be His will, I will go there. I love the Lord and I am very grateful for His Work that I am involved in.

I would be honored to write that letter for the Brookhaven Bulletin. I'm excited to see if I can help.

I don't have time today to talk, but I love you all!

Love,

Elder J. Green.

P.S. I did get all the packages and my B-Day was great!
