WELCOME HOME ELDER GREEN

Hey!

Yo! Guess where I am?! Downtown! Yay! I'm at the apple store on Michigan Avenue taking these guys around and showing the sights! Elder Hunt is going home at the end of this transfer, so he wanted to see everything before he left. He never really served in the city so he never saw all the cool stuff. We're down here and we already checked out the bean and we're going to Navy Pier, Billy Goats Tavern and Grill, the Mag Mile (where we are now), the import tuner store, and all kinds of other cool stuff. It's kinda cool I get to play tour guide barbie for the day and show around all the kids. Elder Thomas and Elder Anderson had a weird first day in the mission so they didn't get to come downtown either. So I'm the Chicago native that gets to feel like an Assistant showing around all these greenies. It's nice to get to be back. I feel like I'm back home (or as back home as I'll be till I get to Kaysville).

We kinda want to do a lot of stuff so I'm not going to get a whole lot of time to talk. I just wanted to drop a line and tell you all how I'm doing. Mom, yes my companion and I would love some Cadbury Eggs! I would like one that's Mindy Mint and he wants a peanut butter.

Things are going good in our area. We had a funny experience this week. We went over to our investigator Elizabeth's house to teach her about following the prophet and going to church. We wanted to push her baptismal date back to the 16th. When I told her that I said, "...and Elizabeth, we were wondering if it would be okay if we pushed your baptismal date back a week to the 16th so that you can be more ready." She said, "Oh yeah, I was actually thinking about doing it about a year from now." Needless to say, that moment was a heart stopper! I was like, oh crap... well Heavenly Father, what do I say now? I felt prompted to ask her what it was that worried her. Come to find out she was under the impression that the temple and the church were the same thing, so she thought you had to wait a year to go to the temple. In her head she thought you had to wait a year to be a member of the church. We explained to her that this was not the case and asked her to pray about it. So now we're hoping to hear back from her soon.

We had an awesome miracle happen this sunday. We had a less-active girl named Carla Bautista come to the sunday morning conference session. I went and sat with her, and she was taking notes. She is trying to find the answers to her questions, because she is attending another church but she knows the Church is true. So she has to make a choice and was paying very good attention to what the Apostles were saying. Well, at the end of the session, I was talking to her about how she felt and how she needed to make a goal of going to the temple. All of a sudden, the ward mission leader from the English ward came in and kneeled down behind our pew to be at eye level with Carla. The looked at each other for a second and then embraced. He then told her, "Carla, I activated my Facebook account for the first time in 6 months today, and the first thing I saw was a notice from you. Then I began to watch conference. As I heard Elder Bednar speak, I thought, 'I know this is true, and I hope Carla is listening.' The Spirit then told me, 'go upstairs, put on some clothes and go to the church. Tell her yourself.' That's why I'm here Carla. Because I know it's true, and you should know too." There were tears in both of their eyes and they hugged again. It was one of those moments that just makes your mission. She will come back to the church, I have faith in it. We're going to pass by her tonight, and I'm really excited to see what happens.

So anyways... That's what's up with us this week. I'll talk to you all next week! I love you!

Love,

Elder Jordan Green.
