Week Ending April 7, 2010

Hola!

What to be said about the mission front this week? Well we found out that my companion isn't going to be an AP, at least in this transfer. And I'm probably staying in Bloomingdale. We'll find out for sure this next wednesday. That aside, the work is... slow. We're still working with Luis, but that's about all that we've got. And he's not progressing. We're trying really hard to find new investigators, teach, contact referrals, work with the members, and help the less- or in- active members. I know that member work is really important and that we need to do everything that we can to involve the members and get them excited about the gospel. I'm hoping to see something change for the better, because we're aiming really high on our baptism goal here. I want to get the branch really involved and work closely with the branch president, so that's something that we're going to be focusing on, as well as tracting and all the standard finding activities.

Other than that... what else? I have letters mostly-written for all of the family and for a few others. I'll finish up the family ones today and start on the ones for the friends-who-have-recieved-mission-calls list after that. I really am sorry. I know that I always say that I'm writing them and I take forever, but something always comes up. Today should be calmer though. There really is nothing going on, it's just a rainy day. We're going to go tract in an apartment complex tonight, which is always fun.

Thank all of you for all of your prayers and everything on my behalf and on behalf of the missionaries. I know that this church is the Restored Church of Jesus Christ and I promise that if we live our lives following the prophet and doing what we know we should, we will be blessed and feel a sense of joy that we don't gain by any other means. There was one scripture that seemed to be quoted a lot during this last general conference that really rang true to me. Christ said, "Peace I leave with you, and my peace I give unto you, not as the world giveth give I unto you."

The peace that we find in Christ is another peace entirely than the world can offer, and I know that it is a great blessing to all of us.

I love each and all of you and I pray for you always,

Elder Jordan Green.
