I'm down at the MTC, sorry I haven't contacted you earlier, but it's been really busy and I can only write on P-Days. Today is Thanksgiving so I hope you all eat tons and get fat. Down here we're having two apostles come and teach us, Elder Holland and an unknown one tonight. I'm super excited. We already had Elder Oaks and his wife come teach us on tuesday and it was AMAZING. I'm having so much fun down here it's awesome. They keep us busy enough that we don't really have time to think about home or anything besides the work. My district is amazing and my companion and I work really well together. We've had our rough patch but that's past and I'm trying to learn all I can from him and he from me. The spirit about this place is amazing. On tuesday, Hermana (sister) Oaks told us that "this is one of the most sacred places on the earth." I wholeheartedly agree.
The spanish esta mui bien. I'm picking up on it really fast and my companion already speaks some spanish so he helps me out. We have gym every day and I'm getting into even better despite all the good food. My teachers are Hermana Manley and Hermano Zirkle. Hermana Manley is from Honduras and she's a convert, she's really cool and helps out a lot with our Spanish. Hermano Zirkle is awesome, he walked on to the BYU football team, but he quit so he could come teach here. He's one of those Spiritual giants that reminds me in a lot of ways of Brother George. He's huge. Physically and spiritually. By the way, if you guys could send them, I need a few things. I need another two or three pairs of my white sport socks and another two or three of the black dress socks. Oh and breathmints. But no gum. And my CTR ring. Other than that, I'm good. I think. Anything you want to send will be welcome though.
:) Interesting stories... We went to the TRC and taught our first investigator, which went pretty well. And yesterday we were told out of the blue by Ho. Zirkle that today we need to study the first lesson hardcore...
In spanish. Because starting tomorrow we will be teaching the first lesson... In spanish. Needless to say, we were.. a little incredulous. Oh, I talked to this really cute blonde who was going to Paris, France and who came in on the same day as me.. Sister Smart. She's pretty cool, we've talked a few times and we get along really well. And we might work on her French together. I feel bad about how everyone treats her all different, so I treat her like a human and we get along fine. Let's see... we have 7 Elderes y 3 Hermanas in my district, District 35F. Oh and my roommates are in my zone, but not my district. They're way cool. It's Elder Phelps and Elder Sanderson, me and my companion, Elder Hatch. Phelps and Sanderson are going to Paraguay, and Hatch is coming with me to Chicago North. The other two have been here for 6 weeks now. My flight to Chicago is estimated to leave January 12. Sorry I'm really scatterbrained, I'm just trying to get everything important written. Tell Gern I love and miss him and I'll write him soon. Also tell Meadsy, Kelly, Lauren, and anyone else I missed that I'll send letters when I can and that I love them.
I can only check my e-mail every thursday and I only have half an hour to read and to compose one or it shuts down on me.
Anyway, I know that I am where God wants me to be and that He called me to do this.
