Halfway through Oct.

Well it's more than half of the way through the month of october, and what does that mean? I now have completed fully 11 months of my mission. My next benchmark is my Year Mark and then my hump day (more time behind me than time remaining).

I'm really excited still to be in the service of the Lord. I really love being out here and honestly it doesn't feel like almost a year has passed since I've seen you. It seems like only days ago that I was waking up at 956 Meeting House Rd and going to work at Life-Line each day. I am proud to say that I don't feel like I have regrets in regards to my mission thus far and I feel that I have effectively been using the Lord's time and my own. This is the greatest endeavor that I have ever undertaken and I love every moment of it

This week we've had a lot of cool talks with members of our ward. We are getting to know the Active members better, and so we visited with several members. There is the Hermano Otto Gonzales who told us all about life as a government official in Guatemala; the hermano Gregorio Gonzales who told us what it was like growing up in Guatemala immediately post WWII, and a lot of other cool people.

We also have a lot of things going on with our investigators as Tania gets ready for her baptismal date, and our investigator Angel is doing really good. It's weird to be teaching a kid who's 10 years old. You've got to make sure that you don't teach above his comprehension level. We had to teach him what Jesus did for us and so getting through the Atonement is a little bit much. My companion tried to explain to him the atonement, but it was apparent that he wasn't going to be able to understand it so we settled with "He was perfect and we should try to be like Him. When we do something bad we say we're sorry and don't do it again."

All that is going on and things are going really good. We have zone meeting tomorrow for which I'm very excited. I will get to have an interview with President and talk to him for the first time in Forever.

Well I've got to go now

I love you all, and I love the Lord.

Love,
Elder J.
