The Week preceding my birthday!

Well hello all, how's life?

My week has been going really well. I dunno if I told you guys yet, but we had another small miracle happen about a week ago. A woman who has been an investigator for eternity, by the name of Tania Perez, decided that she wanted to get baptized! She is going to be baptized the 23 of October and is really excited about it. I know that my companion and I have been very blessed to be able to take part in the progress of so many towards baptism, it's a truly great thing to see and an awesome privilege from my Father in Heaven.

Something that I've been thinking about has been the Power of our Father in Heaven and our Savior Jesus Christ. It is amazing what we can accomplish with Their power. With the help of the Powers of Heaven we can overcome all things. Elder Holland in an address to the missionaries at the MTC said that "to deny one's ability to change, suddenly and completely, is to deny the power of the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ." Kind of a big deal. I have thought about that and put it to the test and.... it works! I know that God loves us and will stretch forth His hand and help us mightily if only we truly desire to have that change within our hearts. But we have to really want it, and make plans to overcome it. We have to be willing to sacrifice everything and be humbled in the depths of humility and view ourselves "in [our] carnal and fallen state" and be penitent. And then we change. Cool huh?

I offered a challenge to the missionaries in my district, and that was to search in Mosiah 4:9-17 to find things that they themselves could improve upon. Because it is important that we rid ourselves of our defects, small and great, so that we might preach more powerfully with true moral authority. Then will the Spirit testify to the hearts of all whom are present that those things which we teach are true.

Also, thank you all for the presents and everything, the letters and all the good stuff that I've been receiving.

Grandma Green, I received the package from you and Grandpa, and my companion and District Leader both tried some of your cookies. They both were like "Wow! These cookies are so good, your Grandma Makes these?" I just said, "Yup, my family is the best." They agree. And we all say thank you.

I love you guys, and I know that you are the best family I could ever ask for (and friends).

I know this church is true.

I'll take pictures of the Birthday!

Love,

Elder Green
